Imagine the Universe!

Duilia's Big Question

What is dark energy?

Just a few years ago, we discovered that 74% of the Universe is made of dark energy. This form of energy is not detected, but has to exist in order to explain the fact that the Universe appears to be expanding and accelerating.

Sometimes I wonder if one day we will find out the exact nature of dark energy. Right now we are only speculating, but hopefully in our lifetime there will be enough investments in this field that we will be able to solve this mystery.
