Composition of the Elements

Lithium, beryllium, and boron, three elements that are relatively rare in the universe, are relatively common in cosmic rays. Scientists believe this is caused by the break up of heavier elements on their way to Earth. By studying these cosmic rays, scientists can infer information about the source of the cosmic rays and the chemical composition of the universe at large.
