What is the future of mankind?

We astronomers are all interested in things like "Are we alone in the universe?" and "What is Dark Matter or Dark Energy?" Lately, though, I've been starting to worry more about the future of mankind. Will we wreck our own planet through our own greed, or will we continue to flourish on the time scale of millions of years?
