Imagine the Universe!

The "Ask an Astrophysicist" Post Office

Because of the volume of email we receive, we may not be able to respond to every question. Please check the Ask an Astrophysicist web page for information on the types of questions we can address.

Please be patient. It may take a week or two for you to receive your answer.

(Without a correct email address, we cannot send you a response !)
Topic Area: Dark Matter

The more we know about your background, the better we can answer your question at the right level and from the right angle. (An explanation that works great for a college math major may be the wrong answer for a Buddhist monk who contemplates the universe from a philosophical point of view, even if both people are equally intelligent.) So,
  • Please choose the education level that best describes you. If you are a college/university student, use one of the "adult" choices.

Students, please do not send us your homework or term paper projects. We will not answer or check homework problems, do general web searches for term papers, or respond to "Tell me everything you know about ...".
  • Please also choose your level of interest in/familiarity with astronomy.
  • You can always add extra information about yourself in the body of the question, particularly if you don't neatly fit into the categories we have chosen.

(800 character maximum):
Please be specific, within the length limit. Longer questions will be truncated.
