Student Hera: Installing HERA on your computer

Installing Student Hera on your computer

Student Hera is a new service offered by the HEASARC that enables complete interactive analysis of archived data products. Student Hera consists of a network of Linux server machines at the HEASARC which have the latest version of the tool packages developed at ASD to use with X-ray data in FITs format. Currently, Student Hera can be installed on systems running the operating systems listed below. Please select the links below for (1) Windows, (2) Mac or (3) Unix. If the version of the operating system that you run is not listed in one of those categories, you most likely will not be able to install Student Hera. Note - your machine must be connected to the Internet in order to run Student Hera. If you have further questions or issues about installation or wish to contact us for help, view the installation notes.

Note: The download might take a while, especially when using a slow modem, so plan to do the installation well before you want to use the system. Clicking on the links below will lead you to a directory index. To download the installation module, click on the teacherStudent Hera.exe link. When the download is complete, click on the icon, or on "run" to run the installation wizard. The installation wizard will guide you through the installation on your local computer.
