Primary Science

The Indian Remote Sensing Satellite IRS-P3 was designed primarily for Earth-observations. In particular, carried two instruments aimed at studying crop conditions, geology, and snow cover, oceanic chlorophyll, sediment transport and ocean dynamics.

High Energy Science

The IRS-P3 satellite also carried an X-ray detector for astronomical observations.
